Hints and tips

Keen to throw your hat in the ring? – here’s how it works.

About our process

  • A role working as a retail team member in one of our four iconic brands is quite different to a leadership role or working in one of our support offices. As such, we’ve tailored the application process to suit the roles and provide our candidates the best application experience possible. For example – for roles in our retail stores, there’s no need to submit a resume, simply set up an online Talent Profile and we’ll do the rest.
  • We’re keen to know all about you and encourage you to provide thorough answers to all application questions. Our Talent Acquisition team will review your answers to complete an initial screening of your application.

Leadership and support office roles – here’s a few tips for your resume.

  • List your personal details listed on the first page.
  • List your education history and qualifications, if applicable; be succinct, but be prepared to provide evidence of the qualification.
  • Consider providing a paragraph outlining your career achievements or summary to date, ideally 4-5 lines in length.
  • List your career history with the most recent roles listed first and subsequent listings in reverse chronological order.
  • Include a brief description of the role and responsibilities of the role and your achievements.
  • Your resume should be in Microsoft Word or PDF format.

Retail roles – simply set up a Talent Profile (no resume required!)

  • Your completed Talent Profile is the new way of registering your interest for a job via Weirdly (our recruitment platform). There’s no need for you to upload a resume when filing in your Talent Profile. Your completed profile is your application to interview.
  • Start by creating a profile outlining things like your personal information, availability, and preferences for jobs. Once your profile is 100% complete, the recruitment team will have access to it. That includes all the information you’ve entered and the store locations you’ve indicated fit you best. This is all the information they need to select a shortlist of candidates.
  • So, sit tight and wait for your preferences to match you to an available role.

Forgotten your password – that’s ok

  • Our recruitment platform for leadership and support office roles is called Livehire. Simply click on the link ‘don’t know your password’ and follow the steps to reset your password in the system. You will be asked to provide your email address and will be sent an email asking you to update your password.
  • For roles in our retail stores we use a different recruitment platform called Weirdly, simply click on ‘I’ve forgotten my password’ and follow the steps to reset your password in the system.
  • Tip: create a password that you will remember. A combination of capital and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols is recommended. You will see the recommended strength of the password you are entering.

Hints on how to prepare for an interview

  • The interview is an opportunity for you to present yourself in the best possible light. Be confident and be prepared to answer questions that verify and confirm what you have already listed in your resume or Talent Profile.
  • Prepare yourself for the interview by learning about Super Retail Group. You’ll find lots of information about our business and our culture on our brand websites and social media channels including LinkedIn. Plus, you can also read up about our financial performance and strategic initiatives in our annual and sustainability reports available on our Group corporate website.
  • Prepare questions you want to ask – we would love to hear your thoughts!
